Grenadier's Action Art Series has two sets of boxes: the original ones are AD&D boxes and the later ones are Dragon Lords boxes. They are often confused due to codes and names. When Grenadier lost the licence to AD&D, they redid the line as Dragon Lords with some sculpts carrying over but many of them completely resculpted. It is unknown if there were Dragon Lords branded versions of the 8001 and 8002 Action Art sets.

AD&D Action Art Sets

8003 Action Art: Mythological Creatures
- Note that the Warning Post is not pictured on the box flyer or shown in any of the Grenadier catalogues but it is listed as part of 8003 in the Armory's Buyers Guide and has been seen in (used & opened) sets of 8003 for sale at auction. Some doubt remains but it is likely correct..

- These three figures by John Dennett were the first that he sculpted for Grenadier.
- The version of the Large Demon without a base was the original, the base was added later. John Dennett originally called this figure a Swamp Bear.
- The "Grub on a Rock" is shown in the Armory Buyer's Guide but is not listed on the actual Action Art 8004 insert; it has not yet been seen in a box.

[edit]
8003 Action Art: Mythological Creatures
- These miniatures are all different from the AD&D 8003 set above, with perhaps the exception of Hercules and the Elven Archer?
[edit]
8004 Action Art: Fantasy Fiends
- Compare with AD&D 8004 above: the second versions of the Death Wraith (w. hourglass waist) and the Couatl did not replace the older versions in all boxes.
