Action Art Series (Grenadier)

There are two sets of Action Art boxes, often confused due to codes and names, so be sure to compare both sets with the same product code here. When Grenadier lost the licence to AD&D, they redid the line as Dragon Lords, some sculpts carrying over, but many of them completely resculpted.

  • These three figures by John Dennett were the first that he sculpted for Grenadier.
  • The version of the Large Demon without a base was the original, the base was added later. Dennett originally called this figure a Swamp Bear.

Dragon Lords Action Art Sets

It is unknown if there were Dragon Lords branded versions of the 8001 and 8002 Action Art sets.

8003 Action Art: Mythological Creatures

Careful comparison will show that the sculpts from this set are different from the AD&D 8003 set above, with perhaps the exception of Hercules.

8004 Action Art: Fantasy Fiends

Compare with the AD&D 8004 box above. Second versions of the Death Wraith (with hourglass waist) and the Couatl did not replace the older versions in all boxes.
