About

Bill Thornhill is a sculptor of mainly historical miniatures and is originally from the U.K. but now resides in the U.S.

He left the army in 1999 and was originally going to go in to a career in IT but circumstances propelled him in to the wargaming industry. He applied for a job at Wargames Foundry as a trainee sculptor and, although not deemed good enough at that time, he was offered a role as a mould maker by Bryan Ansell. During his spare time he practiced sculpting and in 2005 he started Musketeer Miniatures. Around 2009/10 Bill moved to the U.S.

By 2010 the ranges were selling well and Bill was struggling to carry out sculpting whilst running the company so he handed over the handling of orders to Gripping Beast.

In 2014 Bill set up Footsore Miniatures with Donald Hauser and Andrew Chesney, who he had met at Wargames Foundry, to sell the Musketeer Miniatures ranges. Donald looking after the US markets and Andrew the U.K. market whilst Bill carried on sculpting. In 2019 he gave permission to Mark Farr and Andy Hobday to incorporate War Banner Games under the Footsore Miniatures & Games following issues with the name and they took over running Footsore Miniatures.
