Wargames Foundry was started by Bryan Ansell in the 1980's. They inherited a lot of the older historical Citadel Miniatures ranges but went on to produce many ranges of their own. Many of these original ranges were discontinued between 2006 and 2012. These were replaced with newer models that have also been retired but are now available from Casting Room Miniatures.

History
The company involved many of Bryan’s family over the years including his father Cliff, wife Diane and son Marcus. In 2005 Bryan retired from the company but in 2012 Bryan and his family returned. Marcus, Bryan’s son states on their websites " What happened was: Cliff, then Bryan retired from the fray, leaving various Other Hands running things between 2006 and 2012. We only re-entered the world of toy soldiers because my cousin Neil Littlewood went to work at Foundry for a while, and it became apparent that there were serious problems that needed sorting out. In the end we stepped in, and the Ansell family are running the factory again." [2,3]
