Aw, now you're gonna make me get out all the Wyrd stuff I have primed and based, ain'tcha? Stephengroy 21:42, 26 April 2011 (CDT)

Yup!  :P--Mysticat 01:57, 27 April 2011 (CDT)

Hey... anyone know why the Cat page doesn't alphabetize? It's all under "W", too!

I think it's because the Category name has Wyrd in parentheses, which would take precedence. Only way to fix it is to create new Categories and change their name formats to something like Neverborn - Wyrd.

I thought about that, but... a) You'd think the page name beginning would take precedence over some punctuation mark at the end of it and b)it still doesn't explain why "Malifaux - Box Sets" isn't listed under "M." At least the category comes up right in the Main Page listing. It certainly is Wyrdness, though! You'd think the programmers would get alphebetizing right - it's not as if it was a higher order brain function. The latest versions of Word and WordPerfect also get messed up past one word in a line. Almost makes me want to right a working macro for it. It would be very handy if all those lines of image: etc. could be properly alphebetized by filename so that I could see the doubles gleaned from the search and omit them.--Mysticat 10:39, 27 April 2011 (CDT)

Hi folks. I believe that this is happening because the category tags on the pages were authored like this:

[[category:Wyrd Miniatures, LLC|Wyrd Miniatures, LLC]]

That part after the '|' is being used as the sort key for the category page (which is why they are all showing up under 'w'). This is what you wanted:

[[category:Wyrd Miniatures, LLC]]

See: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Categories#Sort_key

Ahhhh, there we go, nice one Grouch! Nice to see you back on the wiki too, your input was sorely missed.

To Mysticat; I read your original message wrong, so forget my last comment regarding the other categories.

It's all better now... Thank you Grouch! I guess I was too tired to notice that I copied from the Main Page edit!  :O  :D --Mysticat 07:37, 28 April 2011 (CDT)

Cool. Note that there are a number of dead links that were put in place expecting a category named 'Wyrd Miniatures' to show up at some point:

http://www.miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=Special:Whatlinkshere&target=Category:Wyrd_Miniatures

Either the category should be changed to just 'Wyrd Miniatures' or the links need to be updated. I would suggest the former. Using the fully qualified legal company names as the category names is being a bit too persnickety in my opinion. e.g. I think that 'Ral Partha' is working just fine as a category name vs. 'Ral Partha Enterprises, Inc.'

Fixed those links, for now under the "persnickety" category name, but shortened it with a piped title. I don't really care which way a company is labelled, so long as somewhere (either the Category name or on the category page, the full, legitimate legal name is given. Case in point: I've been trying to chase down Saxon, and if we'd just had it listed as that, then I'd not know how to narrow the search. I might have guessed "Saxon Miniatures" and never found it. As it is, Saxon Manufacturing is not the same as Saxon Manufacturing Inc., that works in wood products. The company seems lost in time due to a terribly generic name. Search for Saxon, and every historical miniature company comes up. --Mysticat 04:43, 29 April 2011 (CDT)

All the code for Wyrd figs is done, but hidden because I haven't found all the product codes yet to put to the filenames. Just insert what you want and unhide the code you've inserted. --Mysticat 16:26, 3 May 2011 (CDT)

I put the data from my spreadsheets in the TALK sections under each faction's page.

Good job getting those codes in. I've discovered that the commenting out doesn't work inside the gallery, so just keep the lines outside until you need them in. If you do a search on the page after your edit for "xxxx," you shouldn't see any show up. If you do, and you don't go back and hide them, we might find some newbie dropping pics into them and finding out the pics are going everywhere... --Mysticat 01:11, 4 May 2011 (CDT)

How do you want to handle box art?
Front/back, but hard to scan.
Stephengroy 01:15, 4 May 2011 (CDT)

Filenames, you mean? Use ...-box.jpg for front and ...-back.jpg for back of box; ...-insert.jpg for inserts. If it's a second or third version of a fig, then I've adopted the ...-2.jpg or ...v2.jpg - whatever the going trend is on the page. If I'm not sure which version I'm talking about, I use ...x.jpg or y or z if I have to. --Mysticat 01:22, 4 May 2011 (CDT)
