Chapterhouse Studios was created by two hobbyists whose intention was to provide parts and accessories for all genre of miniature wargaming. They initially concentrated on accessories for Space Marine armies before expanding to other Warhammer 40k ranges attempting to fill gaps in Games Workshop's existing ranges.

Legal Case
Increased sales eventually caught the attention of Games Workshop in 2010 who filed a lawsuit for copyright and trademark infringement. The legal battle lasted 4 years and Chapterhouse were defended pro-bono. Chapterhouse Studio won the main points although the court found in favour of Games Workshop on minor points. Following the court case Chapterhouse Studio continued trading until 2018 when the website had become defunct and it is unclear whether they are likely to start trading again.
