Cthulhu Mythos Deities

From Lost Minis Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Suggested Other Search Synonyms (beyond what is listed below): Any misspellings of the deities listed in the categories below, any deities not listed below (Great Old Ones excepted).

Cautions: The collection is sorted by mythos name, for any figure that resembles the true descriptions given by the Cthulhu mythos writers, regardless of the actual name of the sculpture. Manufacturers that are not savvy to the mythos may not know what figures they've bought and so rename them with best guess. Also, some figures, though made intentionally for the mythos, for legal reasons due to lack of licence, may have had to rename the figures. So you will see "Nyarlathotep" in the hideous guise of the "Spawn Horror." For many of these personalities, there will not be an entry, and this is a hint for the sculptors. Where time permits, a descriptive quote may be provided for clarification of the author's intent and for sculptor inspiration. No figure will be admitted to a category that does not fit the author's description; for oddballs that don't fit, we include an Honorable Mentions category for those blasphemous horrors. Finally, a gallery to compare all those deep ones, side by side. Since this collection may exceed the page length limit, links will be provided for each category as they become overlarge. Also, the collection cannot be expected to be kept up to date, as it is not the main purpose of this wiki to indulge the viewer with these special galleries; hence, a proper search should ensue if your figure cannot be quickly identified from this gallery.

To find the identity of the figure: Simply click on the thumbnail, then, on the page with the pic, scroll down to see what links to that pic and follow the links.

Editors: Please observe the rules and requests at the top of the edit page.

Sculptors: Take note what categories seem neglected! [Hint, hint!]

Collectors: Enjoy the eye candy!

Roleplayers: Roll for Sanity.

These are not necessarily confined wholely to the Cthulhu Mythos. See also Gods & Demigods.

The Hound (Tcho-tcho god)

The following figures are significantly large enough to impress as gods, or are sculpted as gods:

These are specific to the Cthulhu Mythos and are distinguished from the Great Old Ones, who are "Inner Gods," by location. Where "Inner Gods" are bound to the Solar System of Sol, the "Outer Gods" are not so bound, but tend not to bother with humans much at all. The exception here is Nyarlathotep, who delights in toying with humans - much to the amusement of his master, Azathoth.

"The Source of Uncleanliness" that resides in the cavern of Y'quaa beneath Mount Voormithadreth.

The dreaming idiot god of chaos.

The deity "with a thousand faces" who serves Azathoth as messenger and placator. Nyarlathotep comes close to the personality of Loki and Puck, and these characters may even be avatars. The most human avatar is described as a regal black pharaoh. Armorcast's collosal ACE019 Space Pharoah Egyptian Alien On Throne would make a great tribute to Nyarly.

Lesser Other Gods & Servitors of the Outer Gods

Yog-Sothoth & Son of Yog-Sothoth

Yog-Sothoth is an Outer God. Son of Yog-Sothoth is the Dunwich Horror.

These are often confused with the Mythos Deities. See Great Old Ones.
