Dark Sword Miniatures was founded by Jim Ludwig in 2002 to produce miniatures based on the artwork of Larry Elmore. Since then they have added several other Masterworks series based around well-known fantasy artists (and now authors) as well as other product lines such as their Critter Kingdoms line. Miniatures are in 28mm scale with a handful of 54mm figures.
