Citadel's Fiend Factory 25-28mm scale metal figures were out from 1979–1983. When TSR published the Fiend Factory Bestiary in February of 1982, many of the figures 1-40 that were launched in White Dwarf 12, were replaced with second versions as GW lost the rights to the line. A gallery of figs for these may be found on the Ccm Wiki.
"The publication of "Fiend Factory" monsters had one unintended side-effect for Citadel Miniatures, who had the contract to produce gaming miniatures based on White Dwarf features. As a condition of including "Factory" monsters in the Folio, Games Workshop transferred the copyright on those monsters to TSR, who already had an exclusive contract with Grenadier Models. This forced Citadel to discontinue miniatures depicting "Factory" monsters that appeared in the Folio." [1]
Note: FF24-29 Red Orcs were renamed first to Half-Orcs and then to Orcs.

Laserburn / WH40K Fishmen
Sometime in the mid-1980s Bryan Ansell had some Sci-Fi Fishmen made based on Citadel's Fiend Factory FF65 Man-Fish models. See CCM for pictures of the originals. These "Fishmen from Space" [2] were used to playtest Laserburn and then WH40K but were only briefly sold to the public. [6] Fast-forward to 2012 when Wargames Foundry discovered the moulds of these in their back-catalog and created a new production-mould [3][4]. These figures are sometimes available from Wargames Foundry directly or as giveaways at events.
