Forge World Models was founded in the mid-1990s by John Richardson and others under a limited copyright license from Games Workshop to produce copies of the models produces by Mike Biasi Studios under license with Games Workshop and to produce their own models for Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000. Shortly after Forge World Models USA went into productions Armorcast was formed by Tim Dupertuis and Mike Biasi under a similar limited copyright agreement with Games Workshop. Most of the original Forge World Models are retooled copies of Mike Biais studio models, their later models were created by new sculptors like Chad Herron. Forge World Models license was ended when Games Workshop created Forgeworld UK and started producing resin models.
