Hinchliffe
From Lost Minis Wiki
Hinchliffe Models Ltd was founded in 1967 by Frank Hinchliffe [1] and sold to Skytrex in 1984. They produced mainly historical miniatures but they did have a few fantasy and science-fiction ranges and they were licensed to produce Heritage, Der Kriegspieler and Bugle & Guidon lines in the UK (just as Heritage were able to cast and re-brand Hinchliffe models in the USA). Various companies have produced the ranges over the years, refer to Disposal of Assets for details.

Divisions
In 1979 Hinchliffe formed Calder Craft as a separate division to be run completely independent of the parent company. According to the Calder Craft Catalogue this was done to ”introduce the world of military modelling to a far wider audience”. The objective was to introduce a compact range of figures and equipment in better packaging (blisters and full colour boxes) as well as booklets ”explaining historical detail, specific painting instructions, hints and tips and how to play uncomplicated games”.
Disposal of Assets
The fantasy range has been rereleased by Broadsword UK.
The historical lines have passed through several hands over the years [2,3]:
- 1984-1990 Skytrex
- 1990-199? Draper Models (1990s)
- 199?-2008 Ellerburn Armies
- 2008-2021? Hinds Figures, Ltd.
- 2021?-onwards Lancashire Games (pre-1700)
- 2021?-onwards S&A Scenics (post-1700)
Soldier Pac may have also produced some Hinchliffe figures.
