Company History
Skytrex Limited
Skytrex was first registered with companies house in 1972 [2] with sculptors like Bryan Ansell gaining experience working with them. Around 1984 they took over production of the Hinchliffe ranges before selling them on to Draper Models.
In 2013 the then owner of Skytrex John Hammond, a dentist from Loughborough, was declared bankrupt, Skytrex was put in to administration (31 July 2013) and all assets sold off to pay his debtors. John was later convicted of fraud. [4,5]
Skytrex (2013) Limited
Skytrex (2013) Ltd was created from assets purchased from the administrators following Skytrex Ltd going into administration.
“Many of the wargames ranges and some items from the railway ranges were sold off during this period until finally a group, including former employees, was able to make an offer to the administrators for the remaining ranges and, crucially, the manufacturing equipment and the bulk of the railway ranges. This offer was accepted and Skytrex (2013) Ltd was formed in October of that year.” [6]
Since 2020 Warlord Games have a controlling interest in Skytrex (2013) Limited. [3]
