Superior Models
Superior Models, Inc. was founded in 1963 by John Carter. They formed their Perth Pewter sub-division in 1975. Perth Pewter later became a company in its own right and it is now the successor company to Superior Models. Perth Pewter still produces most of the Superior Models lines. Superior's products were previously distributed by a company called "Alnavco".

Company History
There is some confusion over when Superior Models was founded. The various sources listed are all vague or imply rather than state and must defer to the John Rankin article in The Space Gamer [1] which gives the date as January 1963. John Rankin also mentions that Superior Creative Services (John Carter's design service) was responsible for producing a limited edition figure given to President Ronald Reagan upon taking office - in this case it was a figure of William Penn (numbered 001). [1] Superior's sole distributor was Alnavco - they ran Superior's mail order service for them. As a point of reference, in 1981, Superior Models employed 7-9 people full time and 4-6 part time, and they sold 250,000 figures in that year. [1]
