ReaperCon

Hi, I might be too early asking this... but I'm confused by the 397x figures you have uploaded to the Dark Heaven Legends Pt.VII page. These are "ReaperCon" figures but are not Special Edition Figures (Reaper) ? They were just "released" during the conventions? Also, on the ReaperCon page I like the year headings but I'm going to tweak the entries in the TOC to stop them breaking over 2 lines: see what you think... - Cattwister 07:16, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

I gave it a go on the ReaperCon page but didn't like the results. I have, however, tweaked the Table of Contents names on the 1500 and 1600 pages and I think it works well there. - Cattwister 08:22, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

I think the TOC tweaks are great. If you don't think figures outside the 01400-01600s range belong on this page, I get it. It does mean that the Sophie and ReaperCon Mousling figures from 2021 on won't be on the ReaperCon page, a realization that started me down this whole path. That, and finding Reaper miniatures in my collection that I didn't remember buying, and discovering while researching the page that I'd received them in ReaperCon Swag Bags and Boxes. I figured other collectors might like to have that info assembled in one place. Apologies if I've overstepped. My wife's been out of town and work's been light, so I sort of went in deep.

:-D Carry on. The Swag Bag details are great - very interesting - they seem to have upped their marketing game at conventions from 2019 onwards. I was confused why the 397x figures were not also on the convention pages: that's why I took a look. I try to keep on top of the DHL pages and get any new figures properly indexed before I forget they've been uploaded: that's what triggered me! :-D - Cattwister 13:05, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

Will do! Thanks for looking out!

Reaper Dunegon Dwellers

Hi, excellent work on the Special Edition Figures (Reaper) page. I would, however, quite like to move the new Dungeon Dwellers stuff onto their own page? Probably called Dungeon Dwellers (2018) (Reaper). Are you happy for me to do that? The 7000 codes just seem a bit odd next to the 1400, 1500 and 1600 codes. - Cattwister 21:44, 11 July 2023 (UTC)

Thanks! And that's a good idea. I'm thinking about reorganizing the rest of the Special Edition page, as well. It would make figures easier to find if they were broken up into categories rather than in strict numerical order. I'm considering Holiday, ReaperCon, and Charity as categories. Quite a few minis won't fall under those umbrellas and will remain uncollected, but I think a new scheme will make the page easier to navigate and understand. What do you think?

Well, I'm a fan of numerical order but I did something exactly the same with Dark Heaven Legends: I kept figures where they were on the DHL pages but also created separate pages for Mouslings, Touwnsfolk etc. I would do it like that here as well. The advantage of numerical order is that it exposes "gaps". Did Reaper ever release figures under codes: 01425, 01428, 01431, 01555, 01556, 01598, 01649, 01650? The Reaper website turns up blank for those codes but maybe they did release them and just don't talk about them now? (licensing maybe?). I'll setup a Reaper Silver Anniversary page just now to show you what I mean. - Cattwister 05:37, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
Okay, I've split that up and I quite like it now. Easy enough to change back but this is much easier to navigate. I've setup the Holiday and ReaperCon pages but you should probably check: I've assigned things based on their title but figures like "01640 Cat Dragon in Tree" might be a Holiday figure, might not and I didn't include it. Should we have a Sophie page as well or not? - Cattwister 07:25, 12 July 2023 (UTC)

This looks great! And I think a Sophie page is a good idea. There are lots of Sophie collectors out there who would love a resource like that. I'll set to going over the different categories and making sure everything that should be is included. Thanks for a great start!

Unused Images

Hi, just a reminder that we have these 2 Minas Tirith Citadel Guards on the unused images page: image:Citadel-LotR-06-96-03-01.jpg & image:Citadel-LotR-06-96-04-01.jpg. Both Minas Tirith guards that you would think were part of 06-96 Minas Tirith Citadel Guard but I can't find them in the catalogs and they don't appear to be in the blister. Both types are readily available on eBay and the tab is "CITADEL GUARD". I'm not sure what to do about these: just add them to that 06-96 page with a note as "uncatalogued"? - Cattwister 08:36, 17 April 2020 (BST)

I guess so. I never have been able to find these guys in a package. Thanks for the reminder!

eBay Contributor Permission

Hi, I've added a "Declined" list for when an eBay user decides not to let us use their images - this should stop us duplicating effort / spamming eBay users. Please check and help to maintain this list if you are contacting eBay sellers. :-D - Cattwister 10:16, 2 October 2019 (UTC)

That's a great idea!

Eldar Field Weapons

Hi, great that you've added the 4304 and 1533 Eldar pages. We have most of the missing images on the RT404 Eldar Artillery and RT404 Eldar D-Cannon pages. - Cattwister 20:43, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

Cool! I'll work on those this evening if I have time.

Lord of the Rings

Hi. I'm going to split the The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game page up soon. It's becoming unwieldy at 80kB: even a simple change like "adding a comma" saves another 80kB copy of the page. I find the "carousel" method used on the 'C' Series (Citadel) pages easier to navigate. Any thoughts? - Cattwister 10:12, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

That sounds great. Are you planning to split it up by release series (Fellowship, Two Towers, Return of the King, etc.)? How will you handle the later releases? Some of those can be hard to pin down.

"split up by release series" - this can be handled by adding separate index pages for each release e.g. a "Fellowship of The Ring" index that just lists the Fellowship releases. A lot of the Mithril Miniatures series have been done like this.
"later releases" - anything that doesn't fit into an obvious place can be added to the bottom of the main index page (The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game) until we figure out a better place for it. I was disappointed they hadn't grouped them sensibly by product code.

Disappointed but not surprised, I imagine. Anyway, the above sounds like the way to go.

Collector Series

Hi, fyi: I've added the new Citadel page Collector Series (Citadel) for those blister pack images that you have uploaded. We might move them to their own individual pages if we get enough information about them but this will do for now to organize them. What do you think? - Cattwister 06:16, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks for letting me know. Sorry for not responding to your earlier message: I hadn't figured out how Talk works (and I'm still not sure I have). I appreciated the feedback and I hope I've mended my ways.

Anyway, I've been working on a page for the Collector Series. I uploaded the pictures to make sure my code was more or less okay and to see how the layout was going. Once I have it as finished as I can get it, I'll upload it. Which category do you think it should sit in?

Just replace the contents of Collector Series (Citadel) page. I have put that page in the Category:Citadel Ranges (1988-1989) and I have added a link to that page on the Citadel Ranges (1988-1989) page. If you look at that index you can see that all of the codes in the "Collector Series" would fit into that index without any clashes (so far...). I've always wanted to get at least a list of the Collector Series up on the wiki. Great that you are doing it. - Cattwister 15:01, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

Terrific! Thanks!

You know, you might as well just put your code onto the Collector Series (Citadel) page right now. It doesn't matter if it is incomplete. The whole point of a wiki is that every page is a work in progress. Always. Plus, I occasionally monitor the unused images page and I start to get twitchy when we get 50 or more images that are unused. :-D - Cattwister 15:51, 30 June 2019 (UTC)

All right. I'll see about it.

Collector Series (Citadel) looking good. You can switch the table of contents off at the top of the page by changing TOC to NOTOC. Also, "columns-16" instead of "columns-24" might work better? - Cattwister 23:28, 30 June 2019 (UTC)

Hi. I really like how the Collector page looks. However, I've tweaked the References Section on the Collector Series a bit and would like to remove references 3 to 8 as they are direct links to images on the CCM site. This feels a little too much like hijacking their content. The link to the their Collector Series page is plenty - and I've added "recommended" to encourage traffic to go there a bit more. When I link to SoL, for example, I don't link directly to the catalog image scans but to the page they are included on. Pretty much the same thing, I guess. Maybe I'm being too sensitive here. What do you think? Some of those images also come from advertising... I'll try to track it down... it's probably on SoL. :-) - Cattwister 13:49, 1 July 2019 (UTC)

Thanks! That all sounds reasonable. I thought maybe the links were a bit much, but I come from a publishing background, so obsessive citation has been hammered into me.
