Dungeonquest (Citadel)
About
Dungeonquest was originally published as Drakborgen in Sweden (1985) and was designed by Dan Glimne & Jakob Bonds. The players attempt to loot the treasure chamber of Dragonfire castle. The layout of the castle is random with players drawing tiles blindly each turn as they try to find a route to middle of the board and then back out again as it is not enough to get the treasure you have to escape with it too.
In 1987 Games Workshop obtained the rights to produce an English language edition called Dungeonquest that was followed up with two expansions: Heroes for Dungeonquest and Dungeonquest Catacombs. The base game contained 4 plastic figures and the Heroes set contained 12 metal Citadel Miniatures figures. All of the figures were available separately and the metal figures were taken from the existing Citadel ranges.
Since the Games Workshop release, the game has been re-released in 2002 as Drakborgen Legenden (Sweden only) and then again in 2010 by Fantasy Flight Games (worldwide).
