Warlock of Firetop Mountain (Citadel)
Games Workshop's The Warlock of Firetop Mountain board game was based upon the extremely popular Fighting Fantasy gamebook of the same name. The original book was published in 1982 by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone who were also two of the founders of Games Workshop. The board game was released in 1986 and was designed by Steve Jackson. The game came with 6 plastic playing pieces from Citadel Miniatures. The playing pieces were symbolic since there was no difference to game-play or abilities if a player chose the Barbarian over the Elf, for example. The playing pieces are not named in the game and are referred to as adventurers. It was possible to buy the playing pieces separately from Citadel Miniatures and the figures appeared in the 1988 Catalogue Part One and appear in blisters with the code P53.
