Citadel's C01 Fighters series was first shown as 20 figures in the "Dragon Catalogue" [1] (1983) - this included some new figures as well as figures that were previously part of the Fantasy Adventurers and Fantasy Specials series. After this, the First Citadel Compendium [2] listed 118 sketchy line-drawings for the series and many of those figures were carried over from the FTF Fighters range. This C01 set is probably the largest and most complicated one.

  • This section is made up entirely of the historical Samurai series with product code prefix "SAM".

  • This well-defined range was first shown in a December 1983 flyer [7] and then in the 2nd Compendium as regular Fighters.

  • One figure shown on the Dec 1983 flyer [7] (top row, 2nd right) is not listed anywhere else.
  • There also appears to be a vairant of that figure with sword arm down.
  • The other figures on that flyer were later shown in the 2nd Compendium (and one repeated from the 1st).

  • In Dec 1984 and Jan 1985, Citadel printed 2 mail order flyers that showed the first slotta-based fighters. [7]
  • Some of these would later appear in the Spring 1985 Journal but 14 (out of 33 shown) would not.
  • The flyer images are all sketches and of a more cartoonish appearance making identification difficult.
